Gallery at 85 Main Street - About the gallery and mission for it's artists

Set next to lovely Falls River on 85 Main Street, Centerbrook is a new and innovative art gallery. Owned by Glynnis Sorrentino, the gallery will represent established and emerging contemporary artists and artisans. It is Ms. Sorrentino’s mission to create a haven and community for artists to work on the property, attend lectures, workshops and exhibit in the gallery. Several shows and lectures are already planned through December 2006.

The gallery stood on the property as a 200 year old barn that Ms. Sorrentino renovated and converted into a gallery and artist working space. “The element of Northern light is so conducive to creativity here.” says artist Jeannette Olson. Views overlook Falls River. Limited loft space is available for resident artists.

Gallery at 85 Main Street presents a unique fundraising event to benefit the Valley Regional High School Art Scholarship Fund, established by the gallery.

Many fine area restaurants and establishments including River Tavern, Gabrielle's, Pasta Vita, Bennie's Farm Market, and Shore Discount Liquors will be donating delicious gourmet food for the edible portion of the feast.

The visual feast will be provided by gallery artists Glynnis Sorrentino, Jan Blencowe, Sara Drought Nebel, Gloria Nilsson, Maryanne Rupp, Joe Veckerelli, and special guest artists Steve Cryan and Cynthia McCallister. We are also please to be showing artwork created by some of the students in the VRHS art department.

The evening will include a fine art silent auction and raffle, as well as, Live music by Cantico.

Tickets are $55 and include gourmet edibles, wine, live music, a complimentary raffle ticket for a fine art print donated by Steve Cryan, a chance to participate in a silent auction of original artwork from the gallery's artists.
